Why raw land?
Why off grid?
Why won't you share your Homestead location.
Let me start by saying that I am not a prepping for the end of the world. We are not stockpiling 5 years worth of food and hiding in caves.
I do feel that time for this world is running short, but that is a battle for faith and a very long post once I am ready. I trust God will provide as He always does.
Raw land, the property we chose is raw. No structures, no power, just trees and wildlife. I decided on this spot based on terrain, trees, wildlife, and the fact that it doesn't even have an address. If you want to visit me, I will have to give you GPS coordinates.
Why off grid? Well as I stated above, in order to get the raw and displaced property that we wanted, we decided to find something that hasn't been occupied, at least in the history we were able to research. We also wanted to grow from minimal to comfortablenemy necessity. That is to say, from 3 years in a 30 foot RV with solar, to hand built cabin and farm of a size we will know when we get there.
Why won't I tell anyone where it is, I will, we are in Oregon. Just kidding, we really are in Oregon, but I wouldn't be interested in discussing my homestead location in a blog, and I don't share with anyone at this point. It is not that I am a paranoid hermit, but a appreciate the fact that once someone is invited, they will always know where and what you are. I love having friends and certainly will want to share the fruits of our labor, but for now, it is our secret place and that is a rare if ever, opportunity. I want to enjoy total peace and have my own thoughts about it for a bit.
We have a lot of work to do, and I am wrestling against the great indoors knowing that we won't be able to start until the spring. I can only stock up so many materials due to current space limitations.

Revamp
I haven't been very good at posting to the blog.
I spend enough time talking to myself, you would think I would have plenty to say.
I'll try harder seeing how some big life changes are coming up again.
For the last few years, we have lived in our RV and traveled around the country. A couple of years ago we bought some raw land. We are now prepared to move forward with it.
We have installed solar, collected water storage, and honed skills to the degree we feel necessary. I am sure there is a lot left to learn, but it will be a welcome change.
I am tired of winter all ready. There is heavy snow on the property already, and we couldn't get the RV in there if we wanted to. I can't wait until spring. We will hit the ground running and be ready for winter next year. No more waiting in the low land.
We would appreciate all prayers and I will try to stay current with information. God bless, Jeff.
P.S. I am not doing this for any kind of financial gain. If I can help a fellow homesteader by posting a link our forwarding an ad, let me know.
